MoviArt Elopement Wedding Videography

An elopement wedding videographer commission allows us to craft one of the most personal story’s we can tell as a UK and destination wedding videographer. Not only is the whole focus shifted solely to the couple and the location but the narrative also becomes much more personal; where the words that are spoken either as vows or by the celebrant form the basis for exploring a couples relationship to each other and also to the surroundings they chose as their place of marriage.

This intimacy also means our relationship with the couple will be different than our hands off approach that is normal for standard weddings. Working closely together the best elopement wedding videographer & photographer will put you at ease and make you forget they are even there. Often we become an integral part of the wedding elopement experience so it is very important to choose your elopement videographer and photographer based as much on your interaction with them as the style and quality of their work.

Mick a million thank you’s for capturing our wedding day so beautifully. You made us feel completely at ease and we were laughing and joking as if we’d known you for years. We literally can’t stop watching our wedding video!!

You’ve cracked Ben and made him cry (something he never does) thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for all of your hard work!

One of Manchester’s most iconic buildings the Midland Hotel has style and architecture to give any Manchester wedding videographer goosebumps.

Residing imposingly in the heart of Manchester comprising of over 300 rooms and luxury suites the Midland Hotel is also home to The French – one of the top 15 restaurants in the UK, a Midland Hotel wedding is always an amazing experience to capture.

Marrying in the Hon CS Rolls Suite with stunning views into the heart of a bustling December city centre, Jonny & Holly were blessed with wonderfully emotional speeches card readings during preparations.

The main parts of the day comprised of only a handful of close family and friends and felt all the more special for it. Often our films as a Manchester wedding videographer can feature a cast of hundreds so an intimate wedding allows for a very personal feel to the wedding video.

With an evening reception expanding the wedding party to a considerable 150 the filming ended with their first dance before a later set by horns an DJ.

Maxine & David’s preparations began further down the road at 11 Didsbury Park while the final touches were put to the ceremony room and wedding reception. A intimate wedding ceremony at Didsbury House Manchester was followed by an easygoing BBQ reception which allowed guests to mingle and relax and the day ended with a bijou impromptu first dance surrounded by their friends and family.

You are either a bride or groom looking for the best wedding videographer available today or a wedding film maker who is looking at measuring up against the competition. Either way the phrase “Best wedding videographer” is just as subjective as every other “Best of” categories professionals attempt to measure themselves with.

THE FIRST QUESTION SHOULD BE “Do you like what you see?

Everything in life is subjective; White Pearl Albino Caviar may be the best thing ever to have passed your lips but to me 100 year old fish eggs may result in a trip to shout down the big white telephone.

It pains me to see so many newcomers in the wedding industry striving for awards or accreditation when the best film makers or indeed any “artist” should only aim to follow their heart and produce the best work they FEEL they can produce. Producing work for yourself may fly in the face of convention, usually it does and rightly so, but it is vital for progression and to be the best wedding videographer possible.

No innovation or leap in artistic society has been produced from conservatism. Eternally we find turning points in history are overlooked by their contemporaries and it is only in hindsight we can see the value in artist leaps of vision, of musical innovation or technological daring. If you try and compete with your contemporaries instead of following your own path you are always destined to fall short.

So how to quantify “Best” as regards to wedding videography.

Is it your popularity- how much you court publicity and social media and ingratiate yourself into the current wedding videography elite? That approach leaves the question of quality of your work far behind your pursuit of likes shares and maybe a little ass-kissing.

Do you embrace new techniques and technology? Buy the latest cameras, the newest software or adopt social media viewing formats? Probably not; Black and white films are still winning Oscars with Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma and Lukasz Zal Cold War going head to head for best cinematography award in 2019. A new camera will not you make you a better film maker… just a poorer film maker.

The biggest elephant in the room is being judged by contemporaries who sometimes only quantify based on current trends. How can a film maker ever evolve if the rules are based on fashion and/or the judges own style? Brave new worlds are not forged through repetition of worn tropes but dangerous leaps of faith and artistic vision and sometimes a thing as simple as going back to the essence of cinematography, an approach Cuarón adopted to tell a new story in an old way.

My point is exactly what I first said “Do you like what you see?”.

Rather than pages and pages of perceived technical requirements and proficiency or wedding videographer awards the most important thing is you have clients that love what you do and you have work you are proud to present as the best and most honest you can craft.

What does it actually mean?

Awards, accreditation, social media darling… these mean nothing.

If you are a film maker or a bride and groom looking to book a film maker these things mean nothing. You click a link, the film starts…. and you fall in love. That is the beauty of art; it does not discriminate on exterior values it is purely subjective.

So go and watch some films and judge who is “best” for you.

Yorkshire Wedding Videographer Church
Yorkshire Wedding Videographer All Saints Church, Wighill

For a Yorkshire Wedding Videographer Oliver and Charlene’s had every element that makes this part of the country so special.

The started their day with both bride and groom preparations in the luxurious 12th century courtyard accommodation at Priory Cottages.

Their choice of ceremony venue was perfect. All Saints Church, Wighill is the quintessential Yorkshire village church and ideally matched the rustic theme of the day.

They returned to the wonderful Priory Cottages & Wedding Venue for champagne and canapés before a truly breathtaking wedding breakfast by Taste Cuisine – unbelievable Michelin level catering.

There are not many weddings you manage to get a reference in to the Grooms fluency in Latin, Mandarin and Russian and I just had to get this line from the best man James into their wedding video. The night ended with a live band and bouncing dancefloor-a perfect wedding day.

Great to work alongside Priory Cottages Amy and the lovely Nicola Denby Photography

With landscape ranging from rolling hills and tithe barns to metropolitan cities and beautiful coastline our work as a Yorkshire wedding videographer has incredible variety.

Falcon Manor at Settle, part of the James group of wedding venues, is one of our regular filming locations alongside their well established Ribble Valley favourites Mitton Hall & Eaves Hall.

Harrogates wonderful Rudding Park boasts 2 restaurants, a golf course and 90 bedrooms and is set in 300 acres of fantastic gardens and woodland.

Nestled on it’s very own island Waterton Park Hotel near Wakefield is a truly unique wedding venue boasting it’s own lake and is a haven for water dwelling wildlife.

Probably the most stunning Tithe Barn for a rustic Yorkshire wedding, Cripps Barn at Bolton Abbey is an amazing backdrop for a wedding videographer or photographer.

It’s safe to say entertainment was a priority for Ashton and Laura with a day featuring: Hannah Rose during the ceremony, sax during the reception and the fantastic Hyde Family Jam band and our good friends DFC at evening.

Working with like-minded photographers is one of the greatest pleasures of wedding filming, it also helps being a photographer myself (non wedding – I believe you can only do one thing to the best of your ability’s at one time).

If you book an established photographer the chances are I will have worked with them before. My Yorkshire wedding videographer style is completely natural with no staged shots or interruptions and I always work closely with other suppliers so even if we have never worked together there shouldn’t be any issues at all.

However I do suggest booking a photographer that shoots in the same reportage and natural style (I’m happy to provide examples). If a photographer is interrupting the natural moments of the day unfortunately I won’t be able to provide the style of work you are booking me for so this is an important consideration.

Or as most people say “I don’t want a camera in my face all day!”

My camera is probably smaller than your photographers; it doesn’t make a noise and doesn’t have a big light or fluffy mic on top 🙂

I use a fixed length prime lens which means I have to be a certain distance away from you otherwise all I would have would be a video of your eyeball, this is a conscious artistic decision to keep me in the background. Most guests assume i am just a second photographer.

I won’t be hanging your dress in a tree, I won’t be asking you to pretend to laugh with your bridesmaids, I capture your day with honesty, truth and integrity.

There is no need for intrusive or staged moments-real is beautiful.

Your investment in MoviArt Films as your Yorkshire Wedding Videographer is of utmost importance to us. Every wedding is different and videography requirements can vary greatly from couple to couple.
